With several years of experience in collecting and packing auction items, you can expect a professional and safe method of ensuring your purchases arrive to you safely.
The following Auction Houses have made special arrangements with us for the collection, packaging and delivery of lots sold at auction (excluding large items of furniture, etc):
- Sworders, Mountfitchet.
- Lacy Scott & Knight, Bury St Edmunds.
- Thos W Gaze, Diss.
- Diamond Mills, Felixstowe.
- John Stacey, Leigh on Sea.
- Mullock Wells, Dunmow.
- Olivers, Sudbury.
To allow customers time to pay for their purchases, the collection from the Auction House is usually made approximately one week following the Sale, however, there is no set date. It is important to book the collection in with us as quickly as possible, as subsequent collections cannot be guaranteed before the next sale.
Please inform the Auction House that you have instructed us to collect on your behalf, and check that your payment to them will have been cleared, otherwise they may not release your lot(s) to us. Following collection, packaging may take up to three/four days; this being dependent upon the total number of lots collected from the Auction House(s).
The charge for collecting from Sworders, Lacy Scott & Knight, and Thos Gaze is £14.00, and from others £20.00. Individual packaging costs are included, with the exception of:
- fragile items that require double-boxing, where the additional charge will normally be no more than £5.00 per item,
- lots containing numerous quantities of items packaged separately, where the charge is £4.75 per additional box,
- china/porcelain dinner services, etc., depending upon size, £20.00 minimum.
All charges are subject to VAT @ 17.5%, with the exception of shipments to destinations outside European Union member countries, and on United Kingdom internal postage, both of which are Zero-rated. Payment may be made by credit/debit card over the telephone; or postal payment by cheque. Account facilities are not available.
The carrier we use for relatively small packaged items weighing less than 2 kilograms; is Royal Mail Special Delivery (UK only). For shipments in excess of 2 kilograms, actual or volumetric weight, (or destinations outside of the EU), we use UPS. We will also use Parcelforce, however, we require a written instruction to do so. For international shipments we also offer FedEx.
Due to new regulations we are unable to arrange carriage insurance except through either UPS or FedEx, from whom we will obtain quotations if required. Royal Mail Special Delivery prices include Royal Mail compensation of up to £2,500.00.
